"Let's be cheerful"! We have no more right to steal the brightness out of the day for our own family than we have to steal the purse of a stranger. Let us be as careful that our homes are furnished with pleasant & happy thoughts as we are that the rugs are the right color and texture & the furniture comfortable and beautiful"! three cheers for chubby cheeks!

As the day progressed and my little chipmunk persevered, my heart swelled.  She was in pain.  There was a bit of pride as she tried to cover her swollen cheeks and teeth that refused to be hidden by lips that normally close when she wills them to.  Yet, not once did she say, "I want to go home."  It was a long day... a rich, 'I can do this' sort of day.  And her reward?  She ribboned in every event she entered!  I say it was a blue ribbon day even if she didn't have a handful of fabric to show the camera.  She did the hard thing and she felt true joy when she closed her tired sedated eyes in sleep.  Yes, definitely a blue ribbon day.

Blessings, Debbie

(Blogging is highly overrated if you have a real life at all. You're choosing the better portion.)

  15. I am so glad she won some ribbons. I can tell how hard she worked on that horse to get it ready to show. I hope now she can recover.
Was it her first show? If it was she did fantastic.

And at least she will not have to have those teeth removed ever again!
